Cuando se trata del matrimonio gay, estamos en tiempos confusos. Por ejemplo, recientemente, oímos a unas personas exaltando los virtudes del matrimonio y como les permitía participar en juntas familiares como gente casada y respetada, en lugar de entrar merodeando con verguenza con sus parejas, pero solteras. Remoraron sobre la alegría de poder acercarse a colegas e introducir sus esposos, el brillo de sus anillos matrimoniales legitimizando sus uniones de vida de una manera socialmente aprobado.

No. Estas palabras vinieron de las bocas de gente gay insistiendo que el matrimonio gay es necesario para el bienestar del mundo. De hecho, oímos rumores que los arcoíris aparecen en el cielo diariamente en todos los estados donde el matrimonio gay es legal; que los hijos de parejas gays casados son más saludables, sabios, y lindos; que pueden y deciden abusar a los hijos podridos ilegítimos de nosotras/os que decidimos quedarnos solteros; y que los gatos de hombres gays casados cagan pedazos de oro con regularidad.

El matrimonio gay imita el privilegio hetero y permite que todos olviden que derechos como el cuidado de salud no deben estar guarantizados solo por el matrimonio. En su evocación constante del “derecho” al matrimonio gay, los gays y lesbianas de la corriente principal expresan un enredo de deseos poco claros. Declaran que estan disputando la ideología conservadora del Derecho, pero a la vez, insisten que son moralmente superior a nosotros, los prostitutos, y que entonces estan más merecedores. Declaran que simplemente quieren los famosos 1,000+ beneficios pero que todos estos, como el derecho de declarar protección en casos de violencia domestica, pueden estar disponisbles a parejas afuera que no forman parte del matrimonio legal.

Deseamos que la gente del GM simplemente lo acepta: su visión del matrimonio es el mismo que de la Derecha, y lejísimo de crear ¡IGUALDAD COMPLETA AHORA! como tantos insisten (en toda mayúscula y con marcas exclamatorias) el matrimonio gay aumenta desigualdad económica porque perpetúa un sistema que considera gente casada más merecedor de las cosas más báscias como el cuidado del salud y derechos económicos.

En Contra de la Igualdad está comprometido a crear un archivo de trabajo radical de distintas esferas de nuestra historia cuir que es igual de desordenado, complejo, y complicado como cualquiera. Con este fin, reconocemos que as veces las obras que archivamos demuestran lenguaje o ideología que no necesariamente encaja de una manera fluida en lo que consideraríamos preferible en el día de hoy. En lugar de revisar o borrar, dejamos todo como parte de nuestro esfuerzo continuo a documentar la historia cuir como era, no como hubieramos querido que fuera. De la misma manera, también pedimos que los envíos al archivo sean exactamente como aparecieron originalmente, sin revisiónes al lenguaje o a la política.
